OAKLAND, CA.-My heart is breaking with the current events in the United States. It is breaking because Americans refuse to take action against racism, sexism, homophobia, and disablism. It is breaking because of the random gun violence and death all over this great nation. It is heartbreaking for my Latino Gay and Lesbian Brothers and Sisters in Orlando, Florida who the media has ignored.

Here is a very simple equation

Solve X.

The people of the United States of America have been sleepwalking for the last 25-30 years and it is putting our citizens in quicksand and the cemetery. The residents of America do not read and our beloved country is being dumbed down and exploited by the political machine. The citizens of America are flirting with the possibilities of a businessman entering the White House this January. A man that consequently cannot work with anybody who disagrees with him. We don’t know what he would do in a world crisis.

Orlando, Florida was the 133th mass shooting incident in 2016 and its only June, we still don’t get it, or do we?

The American media and politicians quickly labels a person of color or a group of color as terrorist while they let Caucasian groups and individuals walk. Examples, The Black Panthers were called a terrorist organization by the American press while nobody ever mentions the Ku Klux Klan who terrorized the South in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. The news media never labeled Timothy McVeigh a terrorist even though he blew up a federal building killing 168 in Oklahoma City in 1995. Only after McVeigh went to trial and was convicted did the media call him a terrorist.

The national news media now spoonfeeds information to the citizens and manipulates their political, social, and economic agenda. NRA-The agenda that guns do not kill people, people do. That gun control treads on American freedom and the 2nd Amendment.

Reality check here, when the 2nd Amendment was passed in the 1700s Americans had muskets that had to be reloaded after each shot. Americans lived in the hinterland and they had to protect themselves from wild animals and my Native American ancestors.

This is not the case today and using an automatic and/or semi automatic weapon in our cities is not acceptable. These guns are made for military use not civilian. Using these weapons in the city kills on a massive scale. American citizens should not own an AK 47, AR 15 or any other automatic weapon.

Assault weapons have become an enabler that destroys families, friends, and lovers. Assault weapons have paralyzed an American political party (GOP).

A belief or emotion on its own does not kill large number of people at one time. We cannot control beliefs or emotions but we CAN control access to guns. America refuses to do so.

We all should be asking these questions after the 9/11 hijacking in New York City. Were laws passed laws banning knives, box cutters, and other dangerous materials on airplanes? WHY?

A few months later the American legislators banned liquids of more than three ounces on airplanes. WHY?

We passed laws prohibiting drivers from texting while driving. WHY?

We passed laws prohibiting drinking and driving. WHY?

So what happened to restricting or banning assault weapons? The United States House and Senate let the Assault Rifle Bill slip by, and expire in 2004.  WHY?

All of these laws are to protect American lives but we cannot have a sane and safe gun law in the United States. WHY? America cannot ban or restrict assault weapons, weapons of war. WHY?

Efforts to pass a new federal assault weapons ban were made in December 2012 after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Many believed that the mass killings of small Caucasian children under the age of seven would wake up this country. IT DID NOT…..

On January 24, 2013, Senator Feinstein-California introduced Senate Bill 150, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 (AWB 2013). The bill was similar to the 1994 ban, but differed in that it would not expire after 10 years, and it used a one-feature test for a firearm to qualify as an assault weapon rather than the two-feature test of the defunct ban. The GOP-Republican Congressional delegation from the State of Texas condemned Feinstein’s bill, along with the (NRA) National Rifle Association. On March 14, 2013, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved a version of the bill along party lines. On April 17, 2013, AWB 2013 failed on a Senate vote of 40 to 60.

This lack of leadership by our political administrators contributed to the two tragic events in Orlando, Florida this past weekend.

The latest fatal incidents in the United States prove my point. Friday night a young singing star, Christina Grimmie was shot dead signing autographs for her fans by a stranger who then shot himself to death. Sunday morning a young man walked into a bar and nightclub establishment in Orlando, Florida with an AR-15 and shot 100 people, 49 died that morning. Tuesday night a 17 year old African American girl was shot dead on the streets of Oakland, California. ENOUGH ALREADY ENOUGH

The media was too busy trying to make money; trying to get ratings they stated that this young man in Florida was an ISIS-Islamic terrorist, not informing the public that he was American-born until many hours later. If it bleeds it leads.

The media will not tell you that American and Coalition Forces have been bombing lands in the Middle East for the past 10-14 years. This is not terrorism? REALLY?  Is Dylann Roof not a terrorist walking into an African American Church a year ago in Charleston South Carolina shooting nine Black parishioners to death? Stating that they had to go, just because they were African Americans.

A) The Grimmie incident Friday night once again put the issue of guns to the forefront. The media refuses to tell the American public that white on white crime occurs more often than black on black crime. The average American would not believe this glaring fact. If you use common sense you would come to that conclusion because of the population of Caucasian Americans to African Americans in the United States. Why tell the truth when the racial agenda is working? Demonizing and terrorizing African Americans every day.

That leaves many African Americans asking the question DO BLACK LIVES REALLY MATTER?

B) The media stated that the Pulse Night Club murders were the worst gun shooting incident in the United States. That’s not true either and if people would read and research history they would know this, just ask African Americans or Native American Indians.

Here are the facts of the worst mass shootings in United States history. These are some the incidents the American media has not recalled. The only logical reason why these reports were not mention is because they involved African American and Native American citizens. There are some Black, White, and Native American in this country who still do not know of these horrific facts.

1) The East Saint Louis Massacre in 1917

Over 200 Americans died- the town was burned to the ground

2) Arkansas Massacre 1919

Over 800 Americans perished

3) Tulsa Massacre 1921-Black Wall Street

Over 3,000 died- The town was burned to the ground

4) Rosewood Massacre 1923

Over 150 deaths – the town was burned to the ground.

Have you heard this on national television or news networks?

(C) Our Native American Brothers and sisters have suffered too throughout history. The Massacre of Wounded Knee in 1890 where over 290 died. Other Native American men, women, and children were left to die in the freezing cold. There are 52 documented massacres of Native Americans and many more that we may never know about. Don’t you think it is time to re-think America’s gun polices and save lives?

If thousands and thousands of African American, Native American Indian, and Latino residents applied for gun permits today, there would be a new gun control law the very next day. This is the psychopathic and racist behavior seen in the United States.

If you don’t believe it then look up, the 1970 California history of the Black Panthers and gun control. The State of California had a law that citizens could carry unloaded rifles on the street. The Panthers went to the state capitol for a meeting with the state senate in Sacramento with their unloaded rifles visible. Within a week the California State Senate and House legislation passed a bill that it was illegal to carry unloaded rifles in the streets.

The Port Arthur massacre transformed gun control law legislation in Australia. 35 people were killed and 23 wounded when the gunman opened fire on shop owners and tourists with two semi-automatic rifles. This mass killing horrified the Australian public.

Don’t say it cannot be done because Australia passed a law that no citizen can carry an assault weapon in public 22 years ago. Following the National Agreement on Firearms, the number of deaths by firearms in Australia, initially declined slowly. Overall homicides immediately after, saw a decrease of less than one per 100,000 persons. Over the medium term homicide by firearm dropped from 1/200,000 to 1/670,000 in Australia.

Between 2010-2014, gun related homicides across all of Australia had dropped to 30-40 per year.

The United States has more mass murders than the whole continent of Asia which has four times America’s population.

So when the GOP states nothing can be done they are lying and collecting money from the NRA. Meanwhile another 56,000 Americans will die and 24,000 will be injured in 2016 by gunfire.

My heart is breaking when will this nonsense end?
