Carmelo & The New York Knicks Stun OKC Thunder (93-90)

The Thunder came into this game coming off a win against the Pelicans where everything was clicking on all cylinders. The offense in that game wasn’t able to carry over into Fridays game against the Knicks. The Knicks were very efficient and were knocking down shots early in the game and continued throughout the game. Carmelo Anthony was able to have his way tonight against the Thunder defenders and was able to score 25 points to lift his team. The Thunder were trailing the whole game which was crazy because Westbrook has been able to have his way as of late. Westbrook had 34 points and was attacking the rim but wasn’t getting the proper help that he needed. Enes Kanter had a double double but only played 24 minutes. Without Kevin Durant in the lineup the Thunder have been stuck on Hero-Ball with Westbrook. Seemed like the second unit was trying to make some plays but just couldn’t get the job done until Westbrook came back in the game. Down the stretch it was Westbrook vs Carmelo going back and forth and they were putting on an offensive show. It came down to free throws and some great defense but the Knicks were able to hold on to the lead. The Thunder let this one slip away because New York is a team that they are supposed to beat and they didn’t. The word around OKC is that KD is close to his return and the team needs him back more than ever. Thunder play the Mavericks next at home and hope to stop this bleeding that has dropped them to 7-6 on the season.
