Updated: February 17, 2015

Russell Westbrook came into this weekend on a tear with a couple of 40 point games and wanted to continue to his wrath on the rim on Sunday.  The Thunder point guard has been very impressive on and off the court and has continued to let his game flourish since his “Execution” interview. Since the interview he has become one of the brand ambassadors of True Religion and also he has announced that his sneaker with Jordan Brand releases in June. Recently in the “Kobe Interview” he stated that Russell Westbrook is the closest thing to him in todays game with his killer instinct. Westbrook came into the weekend participating in the Shooting Stars and All Star Game. The Shooting Stars didn’t go as he thought it would as his team ran out of time to advance in the championship round and lost to Team Bosh. Russell Westbrook had fun during the dunk contest and etc but had one more chance to make the weekend special and he did just that. Russell had the most points in All Star Game history in the first half with 27. Russell came out very explosive and took advantage of his minutes that Steve Kerr gave him. Russ played only 25 minutes and scored 41 points in the game coming 1 point shy of Wilt Chamberlain for All Star Game points.

Russell Westbrook was in attack mode from the start of the game and had some incredible shots and dunks in the game that were special. Russell Westbrook is going to use this as motivation to bring the Thunder to the next level. The Thunder team is going to be a team to watch out for as you have the reigning MVP Kevin Durant who also was an All Star that plays along a Russell Westbrook who is coming. Russ and KD can be the first pair of teammates to get the MVP trophy in back to back years they are that lethal together. The second half of the season is approaching and the Thunder will be using all this momentum to propel them into the playoffs as they are down 1 game to the Suns for the final spot. The Thunder are a team that has been banged up the first half of the season but now the whole team is healthy.

Right now Westbrook is MVP bond with Steph Curry so he has to keep it up and be that leader the Thunder need as KD has been up and down with his injuries. Thunder start there second half of the season on Thursday as they face the Mavericks in OKC. The Thunder will need Russ and KD to handle business if they going to make the best of this All Star moment that they both had.
