Once again the America Sports Media conveniently ignores Black Sports History.

Like Professor Fred Whitted from Winston Salem State University states many times “We have to tell our own story.”

Black Quarterbacks-

8-1 Russell Wilson– Seattle Seahawks – Russell Wilson and the Seahawks took a little extra time to get this victory. This was not one of Wilson’s better games with 2 interceptions but he comes through with 16 for 19 and 217 yards with 2 touchdowns. Wilson ran for another Touchdown in comeback victory.

6-2 Colin Kaepernick-San Francisco 49ers- BYE WEEK

5-4 Geno Smith- New York Jets- Rookie– The Good Geno Smith showed up at Met Life Stadium just like I stated last week would show up. No mistakes this time with one running touchdown 8 for 19 and 115 yards. The Jets defense kept New York in the game as they defeat Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints 26-20. Bad Geno Smith is scheduled show up next week but it’s the New York Jets bye week so maybe the string is broken.

5-3 Cam Newton- Carolina Panthers- Superman entered the building as Newton and the Panthers could have ended the Atlanta Falcons season with 34-10 victory. Newton went 23 for 37 and 249 yards rushing for one touchdown and throwing for two more Panther touchdowns.

2-3 E.J. Manuel-Buffalo Bills- Rookie- DID NOT PLAY

1-2 Thad Lewis – Buffalo Bills- DID NOT PLAY

2-4 Michael Vick- Philadelphia Eagles- DID NOT PLAY

3-5 Terrell Pryor-Oakland Raiders – The Black and Silver got ambushed in The Black Hole by the Philadelphia Eagles 34-10. Eagle second string quarterback Nick Foles went into the record books with 7 touchdowns. Pryor did not have great day with 288 yards on 22 for 44 passing and 98 yards rushing with two interceptions.

Very strange year in the Northeast Bay Area with last week’s Raider victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers and this weeks shellacking by the cross state Philadelphia Eagles.

3-5 Robert Griffin III-The Washington Football Club- Robert Griffin the Third willed his team to victory in overtime win. RG III goes 23 for 32 and 291 yards with one early interception. The Washington Football Club helped Griffin with strong defensive team-work at the end of the game and a running back named Darrel Young who scored three touchdowns.

1-1 Jason Campbell– Cleveland Browns- Jason Campbell showed his old Oakland Raider quarterback skills as the Browns defeat the Baltimore Ravens 24-18.  Jason went 23 for 35 and 262 yards with three touchdowns, running for his life the second half. Browns could have put an end to Baltimore chances to repeat as Super Bowl Champions ending the 14 year skid against the Purple Birds.

0-3 Josh Freeman-Tampa Bay Bucs- Waived week 4

0-1 Josh Freeman– Minnesota Vikings-   DID NOT PLAY

Total 35-34

Black Head Coaches-3

Marvin Lewis – Cincinnati Bengals 6-3

Ron Rivera- Carolina Panthers-Latin Head Coach 5-3

Mike Tomlin– Pittsburgh Steelers 2-6

Leslie Frazier– Minnesota Vikings 1-7

Total 14-19

Black General Managers- 4

5-3 Detroit Lion Martin MayhewBYE WEEK

3-5 Baltimore Raven Ozzie Newsome- Could be the end of the road for the Purple Birds in 2013 following the tradition of Super Bowl winners the next year. Too many retirements, trades, injuries, and television commercials, this season.

3-5 Oakland Raider Reggie McKenzie– Defense did not show up against the Philadelphia Eagles allowing 48 points, over 400 yards passing, and 100 yards rushing. This was one of the worst games in Oakland Raider history.

2-6 Houston Texan Rick Smith- Texans played spirited first half against the Indianapolis Colts leading 21-3. Head coach Gary Kubiak faints on the field at half time and it took the starch out of the team and the Houston Texan crowd. The Houston defense could not hold Andrew Luck as Colts take fourth quarter by scoring 21 points. Houston field goal kicker missed three tries including the last one with time running out, Indianapolis wins 24-21.

2-6 The New York Football Giant Jerry ReeseBYE WEEK
