Are the Terrible Towels really that terrible?

Updated: October 9, 2013

NORTH CAROLINA-(BASN)-After 20 years of losing, the Pittsburgh Pirates are back in the MLB playoffs again, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are 0-4!!!

Wait a minute, I can’t believe this!!!

This must be a horrible episode of the Twilight Zone, which I am trapped in an alternative universe.

Why? Because, this doesn’t make any sense.

Seriously, the last time the Pirates were in the playoffs Barry Bonds wore the Black and Gold and was a skinny dude.

And, that was in 1992.

Plus, this is the Six-Super Bowl winning Steelers we are talking about.

Not, the Cleveland Browns.

Seriously, 0-4!!!!

This is the worst start for the Steelers in 45 years.

What do you mean, they have no running game?

Last season, RB Jonathan Dwyer’s 623 yards was the lowest total gained by a Steelers’ back since Merrill Hoge!!!

Merrill Hoge!!!

Who the hell is Merrill Hoge?

He is a white runner back, who played for the Steelers in 1991, who works for ESPN, that professed on national television that Tim Tebow couldn’t throw.

Hoge was correct.

Unfortunately, however, the only perfect pass Tebow seemingly threw was to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas for a 80-yards  touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 29-23 overtime victory in 2012.

 But, enough about Tim Tebow.

We are talking about the destiny of the Pittsburgh, here.

What do you mean; they may potentially face their first losing season since 2003 when they were 6-10?

But, they have the best coach in the NFL in Mike Tomlin?

Maybe, somebody should call President Obama?

What do you mean, the government is shutdown?

Maybe, they should go find Hanes Ward and put him back on the roster?

He works for NBC on Sunday Night Football with Dan Patrick.

What in the Hell is going on?

Why can’t we just run the ball behind All-Pro center Maurice Pouncey?

He’s injured?

What about the Steel curtain defense?

They’re old?

What about James Harrison?

To Cincinnati!!!!!

You got to be kidding me?

This is really too much for me to handle.

They lost to the Bengals, the Titans, the Bears and the Vikings (34-27) in London?

Why didn’t Big Ben just throw the ball to Mike Wallace?

They traded him too?

To Miami?

So, who can we blame for this four game fiasco?

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley?

Of course.

But, it would be too easy to blame him.

Besides, we can really determine who to point the finger at after the Jets game this Sunday.

Because, if, the Steelers lose to Rex Ryan and the New York Jets, whom are being led by a rookie quarterback named Geno Smith, instead of waving a terrible Black and yellow towel over my head, I will be using it to blow my nose and wiping away my tears.
