NEW YORK, NY (BASN)---It was all about Donald Young and Sloane Stephens at the US Open on Tuesday.

Young, once the promise of American tennis played perhaps his best match ever at the Open, beating Lukas Lacko of Slovakia 6-4,6-2,6-4.The 22-year old Young had lost in the first round of the Open, his favorite Tournament the last three years. That has been a frustrating experience.
Young gained much confidence from reaching the semis in Washington,D.C. a few weeks ago.

He will have a much tougher test in the next round against 14th seed Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland.

Stephens beat a game Reka-Luca Jani of Hungary 6-2,3-6,7-6.She coasted to an easy first set win and then ran into trouble converting in the second set.

She won an amazing 46% of her receiving points.

Stephens will face crowd favorite no. 23 Shahar Peer of Israel,a 3-set winner today.Stephens and Peer have played doubles together in the past.
