Over a stretch of 12 seasons -- a record 906 games -- Randy Smith never missed a game in the NBA. The streak began in 1973 with Buffalo and continued until the 1982-83 season during his second stint with San Diego.
Goliath has feelings too

The biblical story of David Vs. Goliath is often preached and used in sports circles the story is usually told from the perspective of the underdog overcoming impossible odds , but I often wonder how the story would differ if told from Goliath’s experience.
Harold (Hal) Perry: 1933-2009

Hal Perry died on April 30 in the Bay Area and I’ve been thinking about what a difference he made with his life and what can be learned from it. There are two main things that stand out. The first was his important role in breaking the color barrier in sports, particularly with the USF Dons.

When people remember Wayman Tisdale, they don't begin by citing his basketball or music achievements. What made him unforgettable was that smile.
Waymon Tisdale: 1964-2009

The 6-foot-9 forward, with a soft left-handed touch on the court and a wide smile off it, averaged 15.3 points for his career. He was on the U.S. team that won the gold medal in the 1984 Olympics.
