In reaction to this behavior, the FIA announced in February of 2008 that it will launch a "Race Against Racism" campaign. The Campaign has done well the past three year attracting more potential Black drivers to the sports much to the dismay of the Spanish contingent.

Not a single African American has placed in the top ten at Indy in there 100 year history. African American drivers have a very difficult time getting behind the wheel of any IRL race car because of the financial responsibilities.
