Jonathan Coachman is one of the only success stories behind the scenes in professional wrestling for African-Americans. His transformation from college basketball prospect to one of Vince McMahon's most trusted talents should not go unnoticed, at least not by Korbid Thompson.
Chris Benoit: Lived And Died By The Sword

Within the shadows of World Wrestling Entertainment, Chris Benoit was a technician in the wrestling ring. In the end, the only forces that could outgrapple him were his own personal demons. Benoit was found dead at his home in Fayetteville, Georgia as the result of a suicide after strangling his wife and youngest son on June 25, 2007. He was 40 years old.
AAWOTY 2006: Did I Snub King Booker?

It seems that like most of my comments on this column, my choice for the best of '06 was not a popular one. What else is new? There was one other candidate that I didn't mention in my decision, and his name is currently King Booker.
Our 2006 African-American Wrestler Of The Year

His college and military pedigree that preceded him has carried him well into the professional ranks. For some reason, I think that he's not done winning championships, as he won two in 2006. His name is Bobby Lashley.
