Prairie View A&M reached new agreements with head women's basketball coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, head football coach Henry Frazier and head men's basketball coach Byron Rimm II.

Cooper-Dyke's original four-year contract expired at the end of last season. The former WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist, helped to guide her team to their second consecutive season and post season championships and a trip to the NCAA women's field of 64.

"I'm relieved and excited that the deal is finally done and we can put this behind us and continue to build what I started four years ago," Coach Cooper Dyke stated.

"I'm very excited about the team that we have coming in her next season. We believe that there are big things on the horizon for PVAMU women's basketball."

Head football coach Henry Frazier was rewarded with a new deal also. He is credited with turning the PVAMU football program into one of the top programs in the Southwestern Athletic Conference during his five-year tenure.

The 2008 Sheridan Broadacast Network/Eddie Robinson and American Coach of the Year, Frazier led the Panthers to a No. 25 national ranking and their best record ever since 1964 with a 9-1 record.

In 2007, the Panthers recorded their first winning record. His history-making efforts on the field were acknowledged by the College Sporting News and the Black College Sports Association.

PVAMU head men's basketball coach Byron Rimm II helped to guide the Panthers to its best season overall and in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. This marked the first winning season in six years.

The basketball team had members who received All-SWAC honors as well as the Newcomer of the Year.

"Prairie View is where we wanted Coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Coach Frazier and Coach Rimm," athletic director Fred Washington said.

"My goal was to solidify our programs for four years so we knew who we were going to be working with,".
