After an extended recruiting process that saw Pryor forgo announcing his intention on Signing Day in February so he could concentrate on winning a state title in basketball -- of course he did. 

The decision was quick and crushing. Like the best looking girl going to the prom, Pryor had many options as he chose the Buckeyes over Penn State, Oregon, and my expected leader Michigan, sending the wallflowers home with tears in their eyes.

Come this fall it will be time to see if Pryor can live up to his enormous resume and hype. One of the most decorated high school football players in Pennsylvania history, Pryor finished with 4,250 career yards rushing and 4,249 yards passing.

He became the only player in Pennsylvania history to eclipse the 4,000-yard barrier in both areas. Now, he'll have to master Jim Tressel's complex offense while most likely redshirting behind senior Todd Boeckman.

I think that in choosing the Buckeyes that Pryor will have a legitimate chance to make an impact on future Saturdays in the fall and have a chance to compete for a national championship. 

We will see if after four to five years if he is as good of a prospect as former Buckeye great and 2006 Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith or an after thought like too many "can't miss" high school recruits.
