CONNECTICUT (BASN) -- Here are my top five contenders for this year's Heisman Trophy after last weekend's games.

1. RB C.J. Spiller, Clemson: The senior tailback continues to build a strong case with 312 all-purpose yards in a 40-34 win against Florida State.

2. RB Mark Ingram, Alabama: His 144 rushing yards (22 carries) led his team to a huge 24-15 win over LSU.

3. QB Colt McCoy, Texas: Last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up had an amazing 470 yards passing (33-of-42, 2 TDs) in a 35-3 win over UCF.

4. QB Tim Tebow, Florida: The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was 15-of-20 passing (2 TDs) and accounted for 235 total yards in the Gators' 27-3 win against Vanderbilt.

5. RB Dion Lewis, Pittsburgh: The freshman tailback another strong performance (18 carries, 110 yards, TD) in a 37-10 win over Syracuse.
