LEXINGTON, Ky. -- There's no turning back for at least one of the five Kentucky basketball players who declared for the NBA Draft on Wednesday.

Freshman center DeMarcus Cousins has hired an agent as he prepares for his professional career, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Cousins' agent, John Greig, told Yahoo! that he's not as certain as most draft analysts that Cousins' UK teammate John Wall will be the No. 1 overall selection.

"There are teams that have done their homework on DeMarcus, and if the lottery ball bounces right, he could be the No. 1 pick in the draft," Greig said.

The agent also told Yahoo! that Cousins "needs to mature" but is ready for the pro game.

"When teams, the media and fans wait and hear the real story about DeMarcus, they'll all understand," Greig said. "He's a great kid."

Greig is a former player for the University of Oregon.

UK released a statement Wednesday saying freshmen Cousins, Wall, Eric Bledsoe and Daniel Orton would enter the draft, along with junior Patrick Patterson
