The Utah Jazz were coming into the game against the Thunder off a win against the Rockets. They’re fighting for playoff contention and have been in a great groove lately as a team. The only problem with that is that there running into a Thunder team thats been hot recently. The Thunder are on a 6 game winning streak and were able to execute at every angle of the game tonight from the tip off. The Thunder were able to shut down Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors in the game as they both combined for 13 points tonight. The Thunder were able to clog up the paint and didn’t allow Favors to have his way in the paint tonight. Roberson actually did a really good job on defending Gordon Hayward and was distracting him every time he touched the basketball. The beautiful thing about the Thunder win tonight against the Jazz is the fact that 6 players scored in double figures tonight. Dion Waiters was on fire tonight for the second game in a row with 17 points.  The bench has stepped up tremendously in the 6 game winning streak that they’ve went on. The Thunder as a whole have been on a mission as of late and were clicking on all cylinders tonight. Enes Kanter was able to go off against his former team and put in the massive work in the second half. Kanter has emerged as a huge contender for the 6th man of the year and he hasn’t slowed down one bit.

Kevin Durant had 20 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds tonight. Durant was all over the place and asserted himself in the game very early as he was able to extend his streak of 20+ points in a game to 57 in a row now. The Thunder are gelling as a team now and its a very scary sight for the elite teams in the west. Russell Westbrook has been a beast as of late coming into the game with 3 straight games with triple doubles. Westbrook wasn’t able to get a triple double tonight but he was right there if he wanted it. The Thunder blew out the Jazz going into the 4th so Westbrook wasn’t able to get back in the game. Westbrook finished the game with 15 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds in 27 minutes. With KD and Westbrook playing this well on this stretch its going to be a very good clash in OKC for Saturday’s game vs the Spurs. The Thunder are looking at it as just another regular game but the fans and media are looking at it as a battle of the juggernauts.
