The Thunder came into this game 4-1 on the preseason and are trying to establish the chemistry under Billy Donovan. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both combined for 40 points in the game. Kevin Durant has looked explosive in his return back from the injury shredding teams that they played previously. Kevin Durant has passed the seeing eye test of the media by dunking, driving to the basket, and hitting his step back jumper consistently. The thing that has stood out the most with Kevin has been his defensive adjustments and how vocal he’s been in defensive sets. The leadership that KD has showed in preseason is a sign of the things to come for the regular season. KD has been a lethal player and people are buzzing about him around the league saying that “KD still looks in MVP shape”.

Russell Westbrook has been on a crazy run since last year and hasn’t let up in the preseason either. Westbrook has had multiple games with over 10 assists and looks to be back in regular season mode. Westbrook and KD’s leadership has poured out in the locker room as players in the locker room are coming together very well. Westbrook has been able to get everyone involved and hasn’t had any problems with getting the ball to KD. Many people thought KD and Westbrook would run into some trouble but as we saw tonight they are smooth as a babies bottom. Westbrook and KD will have to make sure the team stays together and plays with chemistry as they will need to bind together to help Billy Donovan out too. Westbrook has been more vocal and has been trying to better himself and try to be the ultimate teammate.
