Keeping Up With The Kardashians
“The public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything, except what is worth knowing.” ― Oscar Wilde, The Soul of Man Under Socialism, and Selected Critical Prose
As the World Turns is a new weekly column on the BASN, which takes a twisted look at the world of sports from a Soap Opera perspective.
NORTH-CAROLINA -(BASN)-Fact is Stranger than fiction.
And, in the world, which they call Earth, we are merely actors in a bad Tyler Perry movie.
Donald Trump is running for President of United States, again. Tiger Woods can’t win a game of Putt-Putt. Tom Brady is throwing de-flatted footballs and Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll refused to hand the football to Marshawn Lynch with the game on the line during the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.
Seriously, 2015 has got a brother “drinking a 5th of Jesus” and “praying to Jack Daniels“.
Especially, with “American’s former golden boy” Bruce Jenner, the 1976 Summer Olympic gold medal winner in the decathlon, who I, personally, refuse to call him Caitlyn, ending up on the cover of Vanity Fair looking like former supermodel Janice Dickerson, one of the 30 women, who accused Bill Cosby of drugging and raping them, hiding his man-hands with hair extension, fake boobs, and his manhood tucked between his legs.
Even weirder than that, Jenner also with the help of a great makeup artist, a bad Hollyweird plastic surgeon, a lot of digital “airbrushing”, and some damn good lighting, eerily reminds me of Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya Brown, who fought “tooth and nail” to see that her sister, who was allegedly murdered by former Heisman Trophy winner O.J.Simpson in 1994 receive justice.
Unfortunately for Brown, Simpson, in the trial of century, was found not guilty.
Ironically, however, O.J. couldn’t stay out of trouble and currently is incarcerated at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada for 33 years for “stealing” his own sports memorabilia at gunpoint.
For those who have forgotten, some people in the Kardashians inner circle, according to RadarOnline, claim that O.J. and Kris Jenner, the ex-wife of Robert Kardashian, OJ’s best friend, who practiced law for 20 years, who even defended him in the Goodman/Simpson murder trail, lived with Simpson in the 70′s when they started a yogurt company called Juice, Inc. had a secret sexual relationship, which resulted in a lovechild-allegedly named Khole Kardashian.
Khloe, of course, who is still married to former Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom, who is currently fighting a crack addiction after breaking up with Moroccan-rapper French Montana, whose musical partner Chinx was gunned down in Queens early this May when a vehicle he was traveling in was fired on by another car in Briarwood.
And, the drama they seem to conjure up every week almost “seems” believable.
Just ask, rap producer Kayne West, who currently is working on a documentary on The Nation of Islam’s leader Louis Farrakhan, when he married Kim Kardashian who had a public love affair with the San Francisco 49ers (RB) Reggie Bush, a sex-tape with R&B singer Ray-J and 72-day marriage to Washington Wizards Chris Humphries.
And now, her gold-medal winning step-dad Bruce Jenner, with his high heels on, who has recently had gender reassignment surgery is receiving the the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at ESPYs this Wednesday on ESPN, which Sports Broadcaster Bob Costas referred to a “crass exploitation play” on Dan Patrick’s radio show last Tuesday.
“I wish Caitlyn all the happiness in the world and all the peace of mind in the world. However, it strikes me that awarding the Arthur Ashe award to Caitlyn Jenner is just a crass exploitation play. It’s a tabloid play,” said Costas.
“In the broad world of sports, I’m pretty sure they could have found — and this is not anything against Caitlyn Jenner — I’m pretty sure they could have found someone who was much closer to actively involved in sports, who would have been deserving of what that award represents.
“It feels like, let’s buy in to the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ culture that has overtaken a good part of the cultural landscape,” Costas said. “That’s a train that’s left the station and you and I can’t slow it down no matter how we feel about it.”
With that said, stay tune next week for another episode of -As the World Turns.
