Will Johnny Manizel be a Texas Tea Party Pick?
NORTH CAROLINA-(BASN)-According to the the Lone Star state, “Everything is BIGGER in TEXAS.”
Well, I developed another conspiracy theory more compelling than the Kennedy assassination for Tex Marrs, Alex Jones, and Glen Beck to analyze and try to solve, which involves the Houston Texans and Texas A&M’s 2013 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback- Johnny Manziel.
Manziel, who will be entering the 2014 NBA Draft this year, led the SEC in total yards with 3,732 passing yards and 686 on the ground, in which he tossed 41 touchdowns and ran for eight on the ground.
With that said, the Houston Texans whom were supposed to make the playoffs this year, according to several NFL analysts, shamefully ended the season 2-14 in last place in AFC Southern Division.
With a record like that, is it possible the Texans “tanked” the season in order to move up the draft in order to snatch the Texas-born Johnny “Football,” who has become a legend in the state of Texas after defeating Alabama last year?
I know the plot sounds sinister but, with the poor quarterback performance coming from former franchise quarterback Matt Schaub, who had an interception returned for a touchdown in an NFL record four straight games and replacement Case Keenum being winless, the Texans must be thinking about drafting a quarterback with the team’s No. 1 overall pick.
With the arrival of new head coach Bill O’Brien, and the firing Director of Pro Personnel Brian Gardner and Pro Scout Kevin Murphy, all things are leading to selecting Johnny Manziel.
Manziel’s presence, definitely, would put fans in the seats of Reliant Stadium, especially if Johnny’s former Aggie fans follow their Heisman hero to the NFL.
Why? Because, if Manziel can maintain the same magic, he displayed in college as well as the Jim McMahon machismo attitude in the NFL, he could make the Houston Texans bigger than the Dallas Cowboys in the state of Texas, which would put more pressure on hat-to-the back wearing Tony Romo and Jerry Jones to make the playoffs.
I know it sounds crazy now but, if you read The Long Con: How The Manziels Conquered America written by Timothy Burke on Deadspin.com, it might change your mind.
