Blake is Back!!!

CONNECTICUT(BASN)- Yes that’s right, James Blake is playing in this year’s US Open in both singles and doubles.
The oft injured 14 year veteran from Fairfield, Connecticut has been working diligently on his game and his fitness as well, in 2013.
He even tried a gluten-free diet, but he lost too much weight for his liking.Rival Novak Djokovic is the tennis king of gluten-free.
That work led him to a best ever quarter finals doubles result at Wimbledon in July, with his partner, Jurgen Melzer.
Blake and his partner, American Steve Johnson also made it to the quarters in Cincinnati last week, losing to the world no. 1 Bryan brothers.
He will be playing with Jack Sock at the Open.
This is not the same James Blake who broke in during the 1999 season, coming off of an NCAA Championship singles performance at Harvard. He is more relaxed and he might even be in better shape.
He is a fitness freak, working out regularly in Norwalk, Connecticut, near his new home in Westport. He has life in perspective. He is now married, with a 14 month old daughter, and relaxes by playing golf and boating.
Blake is not a threat to win it all at the Open as he was in 2005 when he made the quarters in singles, but certainly has the ability to win a couple of matches, depending on his draw.
He is currently ranked 100th in the world and has an 8-12 singles record in 2013. He won one singles match in Cincinnati. The draw came out Thursday and Blake has a qualifier in the first round.
He can win that one.
