Handicapping the US Open
NEW YORK, NY.(BASN)–Anyone can handicap the US Open once the draws are announced. We pride ourselves on our ability to do that before the draws are announced. The event begins on August 29 and runs through September 11 at Flushing Meadows: MEN 1.Novak Djokovac-How can anyone pick another player. Djokovic is 57-2 this year with 9 titles and 2 Slams. The only player whom he lost to in a completed match was Rogere Federer at the French Open. The Djokovic nerves of old appear to be gone. He is fit and hitting the ball better than any player in tennis. The only question mark would be the health of his shoulder.
2.Andy Murray-It’s time. The talented Murray has never won a major. He carried a big lead over Djokovic in the Cincinnati Final before Djokovic retired due to injury.
3.Roger Federer-We say that he has one more major win in him and why not this year’s Open. He is healthy and focused and appears to have pinpointed the Open all year.Oh by the way,he is a 5-time winner.
WOMEN 1.Maria Sharapova-She had a great win in Cincinnati and is healthy. She won the Open in 2006 and her game is well suited to the Flushing Meadow fast courts.
2.Petra Kvitova-We say that he win at Wimbledon was not a fluke. She is hitting the ball well and is also well suited for Flushing Meadows.
3.Serena Williams-She is only seeded no. 28 despite winning Stanford and Toronto. The seed could hurt her because she will draw a top 8 seed in the third round. She has won the event 3-times and never can be counted out.
