DENVER, CO–-Toting and touting the “company line . . . .” Apparently Rashard Mendenhall, a NFL running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers . . . begs-to-differ with the jubilant reaction of real, rank n’ file Americans to the righteous execution of Osama Bin Laden. Mr Mendenhall “tweeted” the following: “What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side,” Mendenhall wrote, before adding his view on the Twin Towers attack. “We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.” Gee, it seems Mendenhall, if nothing else has a mind-of-his-own, “questions” authority and doesn’t blindly follow the crowd nor adhere to the company line. . . and evidently in America that gets your blind patriotism questioned and it entails you be labeled a trouble maker. I find it remarkably two-faced and hypocritical that Americans recoil when they see Middle Easterners “celebrating” when an American or Israeli is killed, nonetheless across these so-called United States of America folks were doin’ a’little dance, makin’ a little love . . . probably gettin’ down that night . . . because a mass-murderer was righteously executed. Nonetheless nobody was brought-back from the dead. Now I believe every dog should have his day, and “you get what you give” – so I shed not a tear for Bin-laden, but nor do I do cart-wheels down Main-street. because a human animal was . . . put to sleep. Granted I understand America has a history of celebrating the murders of American Indians and there’s no secret that whole western towns came out for the hangings of horse-theifs and the lynchings of Blacks for . . . being Black – was a carnival like atmosphere. People believe in justice via any means required, we like the Big Payback . . . sadly vengeance is ours. It’s not too difficult to understand Mendenhall’s pure-pacifist position, I find it Utopian and idealist – in an uncivilized civilization such as ours . . . . but however how can it be deemed unpatriotic? The young man has a problem with the both the Saudi Royalty and the state of Israel’s “way of doing business.” It’s wrong when Israelis die in a cafe, the victim of a cloaked human-bomb, and it’s wrong when tanks roll through the Gaza Stripe killing innocents people in retaliation. It’s all wrong, and there’s some right on both sides. Why must Mendenhall be “spoken to?” I’m sorry, Americans from all walks of life maintain questions surrounding 9/11 . . . as they do the Tonken Gulf incident, Neal A. Armstrong’s small step, the execution of JFK/RFK and MLK, how much FDR knew of the “Day of Infamy,” December 7, 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Remember The Maine!!! Who murdered C razy Horse, and who really knows what happened at the Alamo? Who can condemn Mendenhall for doubting the “official US government line?” Now hang-on, When evaluating this “story” let’s not dismiss the ire, the disgust the anger which erupted from White sports writers across America when Mendenhall stood-up, rationalized n’ justified Adrian “All Day” Peterson’s comments connecting the NFL with historical US Calvary. All-so predictably White male sportswriters and sports fans wanted to lynch both these men . . . for referencing the g ood ol’ days (you do know half this country is celebrating the War of Northern Aggression) for getting off the “grateful/dumb/docile negro barbarian” script and amplifying the opinions and viewpoints of millions and millions of Black sports fans whose opinions and observations are meaningless if not irrelevant to the White sports media establishment, from ESPN and SI to USA Today, Yahoo and the rest Gee, what do Black folks know about being treated like 5th class people, storage, human property . . .? That’s one we must defer to the true victim’s of 250 years of bondage . . . Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Without debate or hesitation – let’s admit Mendenhall has been forever painted n’ tainted for backing AD on the Slavery issue, and now, for wondering out-loud what millions wonder in backyards and barbershops across the land; Did Little Georg W. n’ Big Dick Cheney orchestrate planes crashing into the Twin-Towers and Pentagon – or did they merely . . . l et it happen - so they could begin shoveling , what15 billion, 20 billion a month into the Military/tech/indus/complex . . . That’s the question most Americans grable-with when this question comes up around the campfire or cocktail table . . . but Mr. Mendenhall is out-of-line for ‘tweeting” these thoughts . . . the President’s former Ambassador to Ireland, Mr Rooney will be speaking to him. That scares me, Mr Mendenhall is entitled to his own opinions.
