Allen led the Celtics’ All-Stars in scoring with 12 points. Pierce scored six and Rondo finished with six points and eight assists. Garnett had four points and five rebounds in seven and a half minutes.
Kobe Bryant, who received the All-Star MVP award for the fourth time in his career, finished with a game-high 37 points and 14 rebounds to pace the West. Kevin Durant had 34 points in 30 minutes, Pau Gasol added 17 points and seven rebounds and Russell Westbrook chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds for the Western Conference.
LeBron James, playing in his seventh All-Star game, had a triple-double, finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Amar’e Stoudemire also scored 29 points, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh each had 14 points and both Joe Johnson and Derrick Rose added 11 points for the East.
The West jumped out to a 37-27 lead after the first quarter and outscored the East 39-37 in the second quarter to take a 76-64 entering the break. The West put up 41 points in the third quarter while the East scored 36. The East topped the West, 43-31, in the final quarter.
The West shot 46.8% from the field (59-for-126) and 29% (9-for-31) beyond the arc while the East made 51.4% of its shots (57-for-111) and 7-of-29 threes (24.1%).
Bryant and company totaled 61 rebounds, 39 assists, 18 steals, seven blocks and 15 turnovers while James’ squad had 54 rebounds, 38 assists, six steals, four blocks and 21 turnovers.
