Cole.Keaton, a 1999 alumnus of Stillman, returns to his alma mater from Webber International University where he had been offensive coordinator for the past two years. “It’s humbling to come back home to Stillman,” Keaton said in a university release. “It’s very exciting to come back and restore what we once had. Prior to joining the staff at Webber, Keaton was the Director of Football Operations and Head Football Coach of the Huntington Heroes, an indoor professional football team in Huntington, West Virginia. “This is the biggest move of my career, as Bear Bryant said, “When mama calls, its time to go home. I feel good. I’m elated. I’m ready to hit the ground running.” Keaton began his coaching career as an Assistant Head Football Coach and Director of Football Operation at Stillman. As an assistant coach for the Tigers for seven seasons, he served in many capacities including running backs coach, special teams coach, and recruiting coordinator. The Brewton, Alabama native has head coaching experience on the professional level. He served as head coach of the Lakeland Thunderbolts of the National American Indoor Football League.
While there, he compiled a record of 28-3 and won two consecutive conference championships. In 2007, the Thunderbolts won the NAIFL Championship.Cole went 7-15 in two seasons at Stillman finishing ninth both years in the 10-team SIAC.
