CONNECTICUT (BASN) — With the women’s college basketball season now in full swing, we give you our top ten list of the game’s best head coaches.

1. Geno Auriemma, UConn: He may be the best coach in all of college basketball. It has not hurt that both Diana Taurasi and Maya Moore have played for him.

2. Kim Mulkey, Baylor: Has won a National Championship and appears poised for a couple more with 6-foot-8 Britney Griner on her team and only a sophomore.

3. Pat Summitt, Tennessee: Has won enough National Championships for a lifetime and has coached greats like Tamika Catchings and Candace Parker. Not a good move in dropping UConn from her schedule.

4. Kevin McGuff, Xavier: Has his team in the top five. A true up and comer.

5. Tara Vanderveer, Stanford: Hasn’t won the big one in a while, but still great on the bench and may end the UConn streak at the end of December.

6. Jim Foster, Ohio State: Consistency is the key word.

7. Gail Goestenkors, Texas: She did a great job at Duke and will get Texas to the top.

8. Sylvia Hatchell, North Carolina: Always a top 10 team.

9. Muffet McGraw, Notre Dame: Also has a National Championship under her belt.

10. Joanne McCallie, Duke: Has had great recruiting classes as of late.
