NEW YORK — In a battle between two NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins travel to the New Meadowlands in New Jersey to take on the New York Giants.

The Redskins are enduring another bad season.

The New York Giants are trying to keep pace with the Philadelphia Eagles who lead the NFC East with an 8-4 record. The Giants are favorites but let’s look at the lines, the teams and some free betting tips before we decide which team will win against the spread.

The odds makers have set the New York Giants as the -7-point favorites. A straight up bet on the underdog Redskins will pay bettors +260 on the moneyline but they Giants have failed lately to be that team that you hope to choose in your Super Bowl Bets on February.

The New York Giants started the season 1-2 and it looked like Giants fans were in for another long season. Then the defense tightened up and the Giants went on a five game winning streak. Then they dropped games to NFC East rivals, Dallas and Philadelphia, before beating the Jaguars last week.

Free Betting Tips – Redskins are 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

The defense is limiting opposing quarterbacks to just 186.1 passing yards a game and 100.5 yards a game on the ground. The Giants defense has 31 sacks, 11 interceptions and a league leading 19 forced fumbles.

The Giants offense gains the third most yards in the league, averaging 387.2 yards per game. Eli Manning is tied for the league lead with 23 touchdown passes. But he’ll be without Hakeem Nicks and most likely Steve Smith for the game as both are dealing with injuries.

Free Betting Tips – Giants are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 13.

The Redskins had a new hope coming into this season with veteran Quarterback Donovan McNabb under center. The season has been marked with DT Albert Haynesworth fighting with coach Mike Shanahan and McNabb being benched.

The Redskins have wins over some of the best teams in the NFC, beating Philadelphia, Green Bay and Chicago but they’ve also lost to teams on the other end of the spectrum, like Detroit, Minnesota, St. Louis and Houston.

Offensively, they are scoring just 19.5 points per game and allowing 23.8 points per game. They are awful against the pass and give up more yards per game than any other team in the NFL.

That adds up for bad news for the Redskins against the Giants.

Free Betting Tips – Redskins are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in New York.

Even without Nicks and Smith, Manning should find the end zone more than McNabb can keep up. Take the Giants -7 and I doubt the Redskins ability to score more than 10 against the Giants defense. Consider taking the under 43½ points.

NFL Betting Pick: New York Giants -7
