SEATTLE (BASN) — The NBA season has gotten off to a great start and the story line that continues to dominate the headlines of most newspapers across America is the Super Friends in Miami.

The Heat lost their season opener against the Celtics and you would’ve thought that the just lost their chances of an NBA Championship. On the one hand, the league couldn’t have asked for a better piece of marketing material.

The Miami Heat vs. whomever ticket is the hottest ticket in the league and has just about sold out in every arena and the Heat merchandise is on the rise.

Then on the other hand, the expectations of the Heat winning a NBA Championship could prove to be too much pressure for Miami. Dwayne Wade had mentioned that every game would be as if there was a target on their back.

LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are solid players that are effective at their positions. What makes them a threat is that any one of these guys can command a double team.

What separate these guys from the rest of the pack is that defense is something that they enjoy playing and take very personal. Truth of the matter, in my humble opinion of course, the chances of the Miami Heat winning a NBA Championship this year has less to do with the Super Friends and more with finding that one other person on the squad that’s going to step their game up.

It doesn’t matter how you slice it, three isn’t greater than five.

There’s a lot of talent on the Heat roster and if Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Mike Miller play to their strengths, it’s going to be lights, camera and action in South Beach. The deciding players for the Heat will be Eddie House and Udonis Haslem, either of these guys could be that “PLUS ONE” to the Super Friends.

No doubt that it’s going to take a few minutes for these guys know how to play with each other and work through the psychological pieces of not trying to show each other up.

I feel like that’s the only reason that they lost to the Boston Celtics.

There is a legitimate opportunity for the Miami Heat to do something very special this NBA season. The team roster wasn’t set up to win Championships next year. The mindset of that organization is talking winning it all right now.

This is pretty cool and we the NBA fans are going to be the recipients of some great basketball this season.
