SEATTLE (BASN) — Sanna Nyassi of the Seattle Sounders FC is the midst of breakout performance that most professional athletes never experience.

When his playing days are over, I’m sure that this is something that he will talk about for years. From end to end, Sanna has got to be one of the fastest players in the MLS.

As a matter of fact he’s so fast that during a match against the New England Revolution, I thought that I was seeing double until someone told me that it was his twin brother Sainey.

He’s had some great moments throughout the season but it’s all really starting to come together for him now. Nyassi scored twice for the Seattle Sounders FC in a come from behind win to earn the club its second straight Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

“It is good to have more silverware in our records, said Sanna. “Last year we won it and we defended our title this year. That was just like a bonus to us.” he added. The Sounders became the first team in MLS history to win the trophy back to back.

“My confidence keeps growing after scoring those two goals”, stated Sanna. “I’m just going to make sure that I continue working hard at training. Make sure that I do a lot of finishing during training.”

“Whenever the chances come I want to make sure that I take them,” he added.

It’s always hard to follow up from that type of performance but the challenge is appealing for any athlete and the possibilities of what could happen will keep you on the edge of your seat.

“Yeah it is good to keep it going and I’m currently on this scoring streak,” said Sanna. “I’m on fire right now and I need to keep it going. I have four goals in three games. I just want to keep it going,” he continued.

The Sounders traveled to face the Kansas City Wizards and Sanna picked up from where he had left off scoring a second half goal along with teammate Alvaro Fernandez to give the Sounders FC a 2-1 victory over the Wizards.

The win guarantees a playoff appearance for the Sounders FC and their taking a four game winning streak right into Tuesday nights match against the visiting C.D Chivas de Guadalajara.

“They are a good team and they are well-organized,” Coach Sigi Schmid stated.

“They are a team that is going to keep possession of the ball. They’ve got some pretty experienced players with Bofo [Adolfo Bautista], Omar Bravo and Omar] Arellano,” he continued.

No doubt about it, the Sounders FC will be tested early and often but this just might be what the Doctor orders in preparation for the playoffs.
