(BASN) — This is more than a conspiracy theory.
This is a reality. We as Black people must remember that prophetically and historically — they will praise us, but they will also crucify us.
Whether it’s Jesus, the Black Revolutionary Messiah, civil rights leader Martin Luther King, President Barack Obama, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, Michael Vick, or even Tiger Woods.
They will praise us, but they will also crucify us.
Therefore, as Black people, let’s be extremely careful and cautious not to become a part of the white media’s violent lynch mob mentality as they seek to destroy Tiger Woods’ career as well as his life.
Biblically, in the story of Jesus, Pilate was willing to release Jesus but it was the people who cried out for him to be crucified. By no means am I comparing Tiger Woods to Christ, but you must remember…..”They will praise us, but they will also crucify us.”
Let’s not forget the remarks by Golf Channel’s anchor Kelly Tilghman during the 2008 PGA Tour’s opening event when she suggested that today’s young players should “lynch Tiger Woods
in a back alley.
Let’s not be so naive to believe that some of these good ole boys at these exclusive country clubs aren’t happy Tiger has fallen from grace.
So at this point in this sex scandal as one gold digger after another mysteriously comes out of the closet hoping to cash-in on sleeping with Tiger, we must embrace him.
I repeat as these multi-billion dollar criminal corporations, who have profited off of Tiger’s “image and likeness” cancel their endorsement deals with him, we must support him and rally behind him the same way we did for Kobe, O.J., Vick and Michael Jackson.
Because they will praise us, but they will also crucify us. Oh yes, when they express their hatred for Tiger. We must show our unconditional Love.
Even though, Tiger Woods has made an effort to separate himself from us and even flat-out denied us as a people with his stupid Cablainasian remark, we must still love him.
Because they will praise us, but they will also crucify us.
I know, it’s hurts. I know, it’s hard.
I know Tiger Woods married a white woman and alledgedly cheated on his wife 14 times, but we must forgive him. Let’s remember Tiger is still our son. He’s still our brother.
Remember the lesson Christ taught us in the Gospel of St. John when the Pharisees brought an adulterous woman before him. He challenged Christ to fulfill the Mosaic Law by condemning her to death by stoning.
The Master teacher simply said, “Those without sin, cast the first stone.”
Let’s show that same compassion for Tiger. But Tiger alledgedly cheated on his wife 14 times, you say, how can I forgive him?
Again, Jesus gives us the answer in the Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 18 — verses 21 and 22) when his disciple Peter ask him how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him?
Is it seven times? And Jesus merrifully replied, “I say not unto thee, until seven times, but until 70 times seven.
Comically speaking after reading this, there could be 476 more women who could claim that they have slept with Tiger Woods before this sex scandal is over.
So during this time of turmoil in the world of sports, let’s remember the words of Jesus instead of all of these so-called experts, sport reporters, psychologists, and news anchors.
HO, HO, HO and Merry Christmas to you!!! Tiger, we forgive you.
So come on home, but leave those white girls alone.
