Fast Forward To San Antonio

CONNECTICUT (BASN) — Let’s just forget the regular season.

Does it really matter? Let’s have some fun and fast forward to San Antonio in April — site of the 2010 Women’s Final Four.

UConn will be there. That is a guarantee. Take it to the bank. They have the best coach and one if not two of the best players in Maya Moore and Tina Charles. Moore is certainly the best.

No one else is close.

The biggest upset of the season will be if they lose a game. How boring will that be for women’s basketball. There’s still no Tennessee to challenge them because they still don’t even play each other.

Rutgers will under perform yet again with only a 10-player roster.

Notre Dame will challenge a little in the Big East. The Irish and Lady Huskies will actually play a Big Monday Game Day for the first time in women’s college basketball history. The game will be 10-10 and UConn will then go on one of its patented runs and the game will be over.

Joining UConn in San Antonio will be a familiar foe — Stanford. The Cardinal will have the best player in the country not wearing a UConn uniform — Jayne Appel — and J.J. Hones also starring.

The Xavier Musketeers will be a newcomer. Kevin McGuff, the former Notre Dame assistant is a great coach and he has a star in Amber Harris. He also has a very deep bench.

The Duke Lady Blue Devils will be there as well. They are well coached and Joy Cheek and Karina Christmas can play.

UConn will play Stanford for all the marbles and will win by a lot. Head coach Geno Auriemma will soon be in a position to pass Tennessee’s Pat Summitt with the most NCAA women’s titles.

Why even play the games?
