Reaching His Total Potential

HOUSTON — Houston Texans wide receiver Jacoby Jones recently received his college degree from Lane College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The New Orleans, Louisiana native, who graduated on Sunday, April 26, 2009, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

“I am so proud of Jacoby receiving his degree,” Emily London, Jacoby’s mom stated. “He told me that he was going to complete college and graduate and he did.”

“I always told my son that earning your degree will help you in life down the road after your football career is over.”

Jones attended Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans, Louisiana where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. In basketball, he was an All-Metropolitan selection and an All-Area selection.

In track, he was an All-Metropolitan selection and an All-Area selection.

He was drafted by the Texans as the 73rd pick overall in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Now in his third season, Jones is looking forward to bigger and brighter days with the Houston Texans.

But before the season starts, Jones will be going back to his hometown to host his 1st Annual Jacoby Jones Football Camp for kids in New Orleans. The free camp will be held on Saturday, May 23rd.
