Signing Day HOUSTON — The Rice Owls announced the signing of 24 new players to the Owls roster, hoping to build upon the momentum of Rice’s second 10-win season in school history.

The class includes 18 players from Texas, two each from Canada and Oklahoma and one each from Minnesota and Arizona.

“We signed a class that will give us immediate depth as well as players who will come in and contribute next year,” Rice head coach David Baliff said. “We will be bigger, faster and stronger with these 24 guys. This is a class that we can football games with and it is also a class that we can have a 100% graduation rate with.”

Five of the 24 Owls recruits are from the Greater Houston area. They are include: Linebacker Trey Briggs-Jersey Village, cornerback Alex Francis-Hightower, wide receiver Andre Gautreaux-Friendswood, Offensive tackle-Bobby Janisch-Jersey Village, and Wide receiver Klein Kubiak-Strake Jesuit.
