Mason-Griffin named to Jordan Brand Classic

HOUSTON — Madison Marlins senior point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin has been named to participate in the Jordan Brand Classic High School Boys All-Star game on Saturday, April 18 at Madison Square Garden at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Jordan Brand, which is a division of Nike will play host to the Nation’s Elite High School boys basketball players. Presented by Foot Locker, the game will headline the nation’s best 20 high school seniors.

The Oklahoma-bound phenom will be joined by the following list of players.

They include: Oak Hill Academy center Keith “Tiny” Gallon and guard Lamont Jones, Xavier Henry-Putnam City High School, Derrick Cousins-South Atlanta High School, John Henson-Sickles High School, Renardo Sidney-Fairfax High School, Kenny Boynton-American Heritage High School, and Avery Bradley-Findlay College Prep.

Also Dominic Cheek-St. Anthony High School, Abdul Gaddy-Bellarmine Prep High School, Jordan Hamilton-Dominguez High School, Wally Judge-Arlington country Day High School, Alex Oriakhi-Tilton High School, Daniel Orton-Bishop McGuinness-Oklahoma High School, Mason Plumlee-Christ School in North Carolina, Durand Scott-New York Rice High School, John Wall-Word of God High School, and Royce White-Hopkins High School.

The Jordan Brand Classic will also include a regional game, showcasing the top prep players from the New York City metropolitan area, and an international game.

In its seven year history, the Jordan Brand Classic has featured an incredible alumni list of current NBA stars. This year’s game will benefit the Children’s Aid Society.

Some of the All-Time Jordan Brand All-Americans include: LaMarcus Aldridge-Texas/Portland Trailblazers, Carmelo Anthony-Syracuse/Denver Nuggets, Kevin Durant-Texas/Oklahoma City Thunder, Rudy Gay-Connecticut/Memphis Grizzlies, Daniel Gibson-Texas/Cleveland Cavaliers, Blake Griffin (Oklahoma), Dwight Howard-Orlando Magic, LeBron James-Cleveland Cavaliers, Gary Johnson-Texas Longhorns, O.J.Mayo-USC/Memphis Grizzlies, Chris Paul-Wake Forest/New Orleans Hornets, Derrick Rose-Memphis/Chicago Bulls, and Amare Stoudemire-Phoenix Suns.

Many sports and entertainment celebrities will be in attendance at the game. Some of them include: LL Cool J, Spike Lee, Vince Carter(New Jersey Nets), Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys), LeBron James(Cleveland Cavaliers), Boyz II Men, Michael Jordan, Fat Joe, Warren Sapp, Patrick Ewing, Ludacris, Jay Williams, Ahmad Rashad, James Brown, Bow Wow and others.
