From the Press Box BASN NEW HAVEN, Ct. — While the upset bug that hit last weekend’s HBCU action took it a bit easy over the last two days, there still was some movement within this week’s edition of the Top 10 Poll.

The top spot still remains unchanged as the undefeated Golden Tigers of Tuskegee (9-0) clinched another SIAC championship this past Saturday. The owners of college football’s longest current winning streak (25 straight), TU received 15 of 16 first-place votes.

The Golden Tigers’ 25-game winning streak is the second-longest in school history. They can tie the school record, set from 1925-27, this Saturday with a victory against Lane College on Homecoming.

The other first-place vote went to No. 2 South Carolina State (7-2) who solidified their spot as the MEAC’s best team with a 23-17 win against defending league champion Delaware State at Dover.

The Bulldogs, who’ve won five straight, will be back home on Thursday night when they meet Howard at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. The game will be seen on ESPNU at 7:30 ET.

The rest of the top five includes Grambling State (7-2) who dropped from second to third, Tennessee State (7-2) went from sixth to fourth, and Prairie View A&M (7-1), who was idle last weekend, at number five.

The second half of the poll has Morgan State (6-3) jumping from eighth to sixth, Southern (5-4) also jumped two spots from ninth to seventh, as did Albany State (6-3) who went from 10th to eighth.

Hampton (5-3) dropped from ninth to ninth folowing their home loss to Winston-Salem State. Rounding out the top ten is Fayetteville State (8-2) who make their debut in the poll. The Broncos ended their regular season with a 55-20 thrashing of Livingstone.

Other key games this weekend include Prairie View A&M at Alabama A&M; Morgan State at Norfolk State; Miles College at Albany State; and Gramabling State at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
