Top Five Spots in BTRC/BASN Poll Unchanged

From the Press Box BASN NEW HAVEN, Ct. – There is no change in the top five spots in this week’s edition of the BoxToRow.com/BASN HBCU Football Top 10 Poll.

For the second straight week, the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee (3-0) sit atop the poll with Tennessee State (4-0) in at number two.

Tuskegee, who travel to Fort Valley State this weekend, got nine of the 11 first-place votes with TSU getting the other two. Slots three through five included Prairie View A&M (3-0), Hampton (3-1), and Albany State (3-0) respectfully.

After defeating OVC opponent Eastern Kentucky last weekend, the second-ranked Tigers venture back HBCU play Saturday in a game featured on Fox Sports South and VERSUS.

TSU will meet Florida A&M (2-1), the newest team to this week’s poll, in the Atlanta Football Classic. The Rattlers are making their debut in the BTRC/BASN poll this week tied for the 10th spot with league foe Norfolk State (2-2).

FAMU is coming off a 51-24 thrashing of Howard at Greene Stadium.

The remainder of the top 10 has Delaware State (1-1) moving up a spot at sixth, West Virginia State (4-0) jumped from ninth to seventh, South Carolina State (2-2) fell from sixth to eighth, and Grambling State (2-2) went from 10th to ninth.

Key games this weekend include Prairie View meeting Morehouse College in Los Angeles at the Angel City Classic, Albany State at Benedict College, Delaware State hosting Central Connecticut State, South Carolina State travels to Winston-Salem State, and Grambling State hosts Langston College.
