DWCommunications, LLC Launches Classics Sports Radio Network
The MEAC-SWAC challenge is in its fourth season and is an ESPN Regional Television owned and operated event. Other games confirmed at the time of this release that the network will broadcast include the John Merritt Classic, the Southern Heritage Classic and the Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic.
“This is an ambitious undertaking but we are looking forward to the challenge,” said Donal Ware, CEO of DWCommunications, LLC. “Classics Sports Radio Network will initially look to broadcast football games, but will also look to eventually venture out into broadcasting basketball games and other sporting events.”
Stations around the country carrying CSRN include WPGC-AM 1580 in Washington, DC, WGBN-AM 1150 in Pittsburgh, KKNO-AM 750 in New Orleans and WABL-AM 1570 in Amite, LA.
Other locales expected to pick up CSRN include Raleigh, NC, Huntsville, AL, Atlanta, Birmingham, AL, and Fayetteville, NC. CSRN will also broadcast on www.classicsportsradio.com, www.boxtorow.com, www.heaven1580am.com, and www.onnidan.com.
CSRN will kick the season off by broadcasting the MEAC/SWAC Challenge from Orlando on Sunday August 31 with the pre-game show beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET.
On September 6 CSRN will broadcast the John Merritt Classic from Nashville. On September 13 CSRN will broadcast the Southern Heritage Classic from Memphis and on October 4 the Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic from Dallas.
Other broadcast dates include September 27, October 25, November 8 and December 13. CSRN will also leave open the possibility of broadcasting other games.
The Web site, www.classicsportsradio.com, will not only carry the live broadcast of the games, but will be an information source where fans can get updated HBCU football scores every 30 minutes, information about the CSRN Game of the Week, a write-up of the CSRN Game of the Week MVP, and football game stories as well as the opportunity to listen to archived games.
Currently, fans can go on-line to register to win a free trip to the State Fair Classic in Dallas on October 4.
