Michael Clark Proves That (20/10 Vision) Does Exist In The Basketball World
If you don’t know Michael Clark then it’s about time you get...
WILL BE NBA COACH OF THE YEAR
BUT WHO WILL IT BE THIS YEAR
Above you see David Stern
( trust us as you always should )
on the right needless to say
presenting Red Auerbach’s
Trophy for Coach of
the Year last year to
Sam Mitchell of
Rap-tors fame
WHO will it be this year. The award to be announced shortly. Well here is the GOOD news. It is very very likely to be an African American again. The three leading candidates by most accounts being Roc Rivers of the Celtics, Byron Scott of the Hornets or Maurice Cheeks of the 76ers. Obviously the easy choice is Rivers.
Rivers has produced the team with the best record in the NBA this season 66-16. An impressive 7 wins better than the second best regular season record Detroit’s Pistons 59-23. In the Atlantic Division Boston finished a WHOPPING 25 games ahead of second place Toronto and last year’s coach of the year Sam Mitchell. The Celtics were an amazing 35-6 at hone and equally amazing on the road 31-10 and 41-11 in their Conference.
IT GETS MUCH BETTER.
The Boston Celtics record last season was 24-58. Again their record 24-58. HELLO. They finished in LAST place. While it is impossible to believe. Boston even had a worse record than the so called New York Knicks. The Knicks won 9 more games than Boston. HELLO. But the very best statistic of all is this. This season Boston won FORTY FOUR more games than they won last season. That qualifies as a MIRACLE.
And while the players play the game. And while they had stellar seasons. And Boston made some fabulous acquisitions during the off-season there is NO way on Earth their head coach does not get a HUGE pile of the credit. Easily enough CREDIT to be named NBA 2008 Coach of the Year shortly.
Doc Rivers in his 4th season as Boston’s coach has now proven why that was such a wise decision by the team even with his rocky start. Adding to Rivers’ luster he previously was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2000 coaching the Orlando Magic.
Topping it all off NO Boston Celtics coach has won since 1980. That is 28 years Sports Fans. And of course making it even sweeter the Trophy and award is named in honor of the super-legendary Boston Celtics coach Red Auerbach.
But the suspense isn’t over
believe it or not some of the
voters may not read today’s
Box and there are two or
more other coaches with
some chance of winning
forget it that’s wishful
thinking on their part
start engraving it’s
BUT WHO WILL IT BE THIS YEAR
