Dead Duck DUCKS AND DIXON TOO

Dead Duck SO LONG OREGON

It was a Dream

that seemed

so Close to

Reality

Until it came CRASHING down Thursday night. Another NCAA Championship game led by an African American Heisman winner. The Oregon Ducks and most of all Starting Quarterback Dennis Dixon were ZOOMING along especially after last Saturday’s UPSET loss by Ohio State. Lucky Oregon getting a precious week off after their riveting victory over Arizona State. Most of all Dennis Dixon

With all the Momentum

any team might want

and well rested all

the Ducks had to do

Thursday night was

BEAT unranked Arizona

At that point 9-1 led by the leading HEISMAN candidate Dennis Dixon with even more MO behind them and just two regular season games ahead one of them an expected “laugher” Dixon would be on his way to New York City so far ahead in the Heisman voting the Heisman folks could have saved money not inviting anyone else and the rest of his team would be back home preparing for the NCAA Championship Game.

EXCEPT it didn’t

happen according

to plan Thursday

WHY o Wise One

when it seems so

PERFECT when

life is poised to

be as it should

does it go so

so WRONG

BECAUSE

that’s the way it is !!

( what wisdom !! )

Anyway if you just want the “facts” without the absurd psychology or false wisdom here is it. While “everyone” ( all right thinking people ) hoped even assumed Dixon’s left knee which he injured near the end of the game almost two weeks ago was minor besides with lots of time to rest before Arizona – that everything was fine.

EXCEPT IT WASN’T

Quarterback Dennis Dixon’s knee BUCKLED in the first quarter against Arizona, he came out of the game never to return AND THAT WAS IT in effect the game ended for the Ducks soon after it started even if they would battle on without Dixon to lose 34-24. So blame it on the KNEE. What an expensive knee. It literally cost both Dixon and the Ducks everything. Dixon the Heisman and the Ducks the National Championship game.

It’s all OVER for both

Yes Yes the Ducks will soldier on. Might even win their last two games. Probably not both if Dixon remains out. They will be invited to play in one Bowl or another. There are so many to fill don’t be surprised if your local high school team gets invited to play in one Bowl or another. Maybe the Empty Bowl ??

The cost can be measured even higher for Dixon. As an African American Quarterback everything has to line up right to get to the Top Tier. Had Dixon won the Heisman his face would have been everywhere. He might have become the #1 selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. Now he’ll have to PRAY he gets drafted at all.

Because of one knee injury

it doesn’t seem Fair

GUESS WHAT

it isn’t
