HOUSTON — Mothers Making A Difference (MMAD), a non-profit 501c(3) organization, hosted a kickoff reception at the Mercedes Benz-Sugarland showroom.

Established in September of 2005, MMAD’s mission is to support and enhance the lives of members of the Houston-area community, by embracing them through various programs. These programs encourage parents by aiding in their knowledge and awareness to offer support in addressing issues affecting their daily lives.

This year, MMAD has joined forces with the MothersBasketball Association to raise funds for the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation and a local charity, Ready Women, Inc.

The Dikembe Mutombo Foundation is dedicated to improving the health education, and quality of life for the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Foundation strives to accomplish this goal through an emphasis on primary health care and disease prevention, the promotion of health policy, health research and increased access to health care and education for the people of Congo.

Ready Women, Inc. provides free comprehensive grooming services to women who have completed back to work programs. The services include: hairstyling, make-up application, skincare instruction, skincare analysis, and image consulting.
