THE MADDEN CURSE

WHO’S NEXT !!

( IS THERE A GOOD REASON WHITE PLAYERS DON’T GET SELECTED ?? ) Madden LOOK CLOSELY WHO DO YOU SEE !!

Sadly we could not

stay up late and wait

for the official announcement

let’s say the rumored Announcement

on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday

night when “surprise” guest

Tennessee QB Vince Young

unveiled the cover art

( it’s now Wednesday )

for Madden 08

Instead we have superimposed Young’s photo on Madden 07 which featured Seattle running back Shaun Alexander. Who at the time of his unveiling loved the idea and the pocket change he received. Not any more. The story behind the story of the highly sought after selection to grace the cover of the most popular video game in the history of the universe is the CURSE.

You can ask Shaun Alexander

Or any NFL player who has been “lucky” enough to be chosen going all the way back to those ancient times by video game standards, 2001. That year former NFL running back Eddie George was chosen. He did OK in 2001 but then later he fell apart on the Gridiron. But in his case a few years after.

The others have not ben that lucky. They have each suffered season destroying injuries the season they were chosen. Former Vikings Quarterback Daunte Culpepper,. Madden 02, a knee injury.

Marshall Faulk, St. Louis Rams star running back, Madden 03, ankle injury. Here’s a bad one.

Atlanta QB Michael Vick, Madden 04, broken leg during exhibition season. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, Madden 05, serious wrist injury. Yes next Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb, Madden 06, season destroying hernia injury. And the aforementioned Shaun Alexander, Madden 07, broken bone in his foot, costing the 2005 MVP and the Seahawks dearly.

Young claims he has no reason to fear The Curse

His logic is that he has clearly beaten another well known “curse” appearing on the Sports Illustrated cover. Young has already done so 3 times as his career has advanced unabated and without injury.

On the other hand Vince Young could prove a “perfect” candidate for the Curse.

Never seriously injured in his college or new NFL career. Last season a dazzling debut raising the Titans from the Ashes and being named Rookie of the Year a true rarity for a QB.

Now next his second and first full season as Starting Quarterback for the Tennessee Titans all eyes are on him and everyone knows his goal and that of the Titans for 2007 is to lead the team into the Playoffs which they barely missed last season. Even more with a strong early season Young and his growing legion of fans will begin wondering out loud can Vince lead the Titans all the Way.

With the stakes so high. With Super Bowel and MVP fantasies dancing in Vince Young’s head. With his very mobile and aggressive style of play you might even conclude Vince Young is the “perfect” candidate for The Curse.

Should Vince Young succumb

to The Curse it will move

further from fiction to fact

but if he breaks The Curse

and yes he ends the streak

don’t be Surprised at all to

finally finally see some

White Player chosen

for Madden 09
