WORLD CHAMPION CARDINALS DON’T CALL IT AN AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

THESE ARE NOT BLACK CARDINALS

Maybe we should

Jump for Joy

there were NO

Black Announcers

NO Black Umpires

at the World Series

( once again )

but guess what

The World Champion Cardinals

actually have ONE

African American player

NO he didn’t Start the Series

and he was pulled OUT

of the Final Game

but hey he really

got to PLAY !!

Hallelujah

Praise the Lord

THANK YOU

Tony LaRussa

Last year the Houston Astros arrived at the World Series with NO African Americans on their Roster whatsoever. At least they lost to the Chicago White Sox. Avoiding the ultimate indignity for Black America. And Baseball. Now it’s Thank God for Preston Wilson. Mookie Wilson’s Stepson.

Preston Wilson is NO SuperStar and although he was a regular during the season for St. Louis after arriving late in the season he slumped badly in the Post-Season. Just maybe it was the PRESSURE of being the only African American on the team. Even if consciously it did not come into his mind.

We hope it did realize

his Special Role

In fact

who is Preston Wilson

at least he deserves

our attention in the Box

First of all he grew up attending games in New York’s Shea Stadium watching his Stepfather Mookie play for the Mets. Even siting behind Home Plate in 1986 when Mookie hit the Dribbler Heard Round the Baseball World when in Game 6 Boston Red Sox’s 1st Baseman Bill Buckner let the ball slip between his legs and leading to the Great 1986 New York Mets Comeback & World Championship.

All these years later it can be argued that Thursday night in Game #4 in the 7th inning Preston Wilson delivered the Hit that gave the Cardinals the Lead sealed both The Cardinals and Detroit’s Fate. It was Wilson’s one moment of Glory this Post-Season but it could not have been Bigger.

In 12 seasons in the Bigs Wilson has played for 6 MLB teams. At the age of 32 he has a career average of .264 with 188 HomeRuns and 663 RBIs. He came to St. Louis in a trade from yes Houston which finally added an African American player to their Roster then traded him to the Cardinals so they could have ONE.

Now Preston Wilson

will have a World Series ring

having saved the Cardinals

the embarrassment of

being World Champs

the first in 50 years

without even ONE

African American

on their Roster
