Chicago

CHICAGO

I’ll show you around

Chicago

CHICAGO

They have the Time

The time of their life

The song Chicago ( That Toddlin Town ) could well be Lovie Smith’s anthem these football days. He is the Toast of the Windy City. More than ever after HUMILIATING Seattle on national television earlier this season. In Chicago CHICAGO. The Bears gave a serious HURT to the Seahawks who up until then were undefeated and DREAMING SuperBowl again.

The African American Head Coaches

in the NFL are still too few

and far between

But Lovie Smith is sure showing the World the entire Known Universe what a BLACK Head Coach can do in the NFL. Chicago CHICAGO …. his kind of Town. I saw a man he danced with his wife after another Bears win in Chicago CHICAGO That toddlin’ town .. I’ll show you around. Chicago CHICAGO …

Let’s recap Sunday evening

lest anyone forget

starting with

the Score

37-6

OUCH

The Bears clearly known for their DEFENSE certainly last year which got them very far including a very long winning streak – Sunday night looked like Offensive Monsters scoring in every period against the Ballyhooed Seahawks. Both entered the Windy City Sunday 3-0. Only one emerged in One Piece and Undefeated. They LOVE Smith in Chicago. 4-0 Chicago. Proving Chicago’s Offensive AND Defensive Prowess. Giving us just 2 measly Field Goals.

The Bears sit far atop the NFC North in First Place over Second Place Minnesota 2-2. Get this Chicago is 3rd in the NFL in scoring behind only Indianapolis and Philadelphia and Philadelphia is only ONE point ahead of the Bears with their 117 points to Chicago’s 116. AND HOW ABOUT THIS. 29 points scored against them less than any team that has played 4 games.

What happens when one team

is among the leaders in both

points scored + fewest allowed

and they kept it up ALL season

Now its on to the….

THE SUPERBOWL

far more than likely

Chicago

CHICAGO

Last season the Bears were ALL Defense

with little Offense as we wrote ourselves

back on November 30, 2005

in the Black Box …..

Lovie Smith does not hesitate in telling everyone where Chicago’s strength lies. Defense. As he put it being what would qualify as philosophical for an NFL coach ” If you don’t let a team score you have a heck of a chance of winning.”

Say no more Smith.

Let’s even believe sports fans even football fans continue to evolve where or not our human species does. Could it be possible that football fans will someday come to appreciate and enjoy Defense as much as passing, running and scoring. The other side of the very same equation. The Bears are doing their part.

For Smith his faith in Defense is very practical the Bears have scored more than one TD in only 3 of their 11 games this season. That’s no numbers crunching Offense. Having a rookie QB Kyle Orton doesn’t help. Sunday’s 13-10 win over Tampa Bay was a perfect illustration of the power of the defensive team Smith has assembled and the much weaker Offense he has been able to survive and prosper with. Chicago’s production consisted of 1 TD and 2 Field Goals. Which was plenty when his team only allows their opponent 10 points.

Again that was the Box

back on November 30, 2005

NOW Chicago has a Complete Package due to the ever increasing stamp Lovie Smith is putting on these Chicago Bears with each passing game and season. And the one game that proves it Better than any other game since Smith arrived as the Head Coach of the Bears at the start of the 2004 season – is Chicago SHELLACKING ( what a fabulous under-used word ) Seattle.
