HIS WORK IS DONE NOW HE CAN REST JUNIOR SEAU

JUNIOR SEAU ALL SMILES THIS WEEK

You know the Lyrics

to every season

turn turn turn

there is a season

turn turn

a time to be drafted

turn turn

a time to play

turn turn

a time to RETIRE

stop turning

That is where the Great San Diego Linebacker is doing this week. Announcing his Retirement from the NFL. Proving another point you are never as appreciated as after you are gone. Everywhere Seau is being proclaimed a hero a GIANT among players. A lock on first year of eligibility Hall of Famer.

The irony is

While Junior Seau was highly touted during his 16 year career and he was instrumental to the Chargers success. Listening this week you would think his name has been on the lips of every sports broadcaster every week the last 16 years. That you could not pick up a sports section without reading about him.

If only Linebackers really

got that much Attention

Sure when they make a big play but otherwise they toil in virtual anonymity during most games especially if you are listening to the play by play. Listening to the Tributes this week you’d think every defensive Chargers play every game included comments by the announcers about Junior Seau.

Wouldn’t it be a worthwhile evolution if the play by play guys gave roughly equal attention to all the players on the field and if fans actually got sophisticated about the sports they follow and you could over hear them discussing the quality of the linebackers’ play the last set of Downs.

Now let’s get back to Junior Seau

and praise him and his career

Here is a quote from the NFL Network

” Now his career, his great career, is over. But to watch him Sunday after Sunday was like watching a Tasmanian Devil, which was the nickname his former teammates slapped on him. Anybody who focused solely on Seau would see a player whose energy was more endless than his Pro Bowl streak. While with San Diego, Seau played in 12 consecutive Pro Bowls. He led the Chargers in tackles in almost every one of those seasons. ”

And this from Marcus Allen

“Junior Seau is, without a doubt, a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Junior’s rare passion and fire for the game is only rivaled by his desire to help his fellow man.”

You can look up his career stats for yourself

all that really counts

everyone agrees

Junior Seau

is one of the Great Linebackers

in NFL history and

now he has Retired

to every season

turn turn turn
