Rising Fast In World of Tennis James Blake

Updated: July 25, 2006

Call it Practice

for the Big One

coming up fast

The U.S. Open

James Blake announced Loudly in Indianapolis this past Weekend HE IS READY. Ready to compete against the Best for the Tennis Championship in Flushing Meadows which is the last grand tournament of the Tennis year that begins in Australia, moves on to Paris, then London, and finally NYC.

Blake is now Ranked

#5 in the World

the Highest he’s

ever been

After finishing off

Andy Roddick in the RCA Championship Sunday. Not a bad improvement for Blake who was ranked all of 210 not that long ago. Blake has now replaced Roddick as the Top Ranked American. Roddick who in the past has been ranked #1 in the World. For Blake this is his 3rd Tournament win of the year. Winning in Sydney and Las Vegas prior to Indianapolis. He has 6 career Victories.

He is Cruising right now.

In the past Roddick has proved a challenge for Blake, Roddick having won 6 of their last 7 encounters on the Tennis Court. Blake characterized his game playing against Roddick for the RCA Championship as his Best Ever.

That is perfect timing for Blake with

Flushing Meadows looming

weeks away

The talk of James Blake as the Black successor to Arthur Ashe is always in the background and rarely in the foreground. It is unlikely Blake will ever reach those heights. At 26 the hurdles become even higher. Still if he is going to make a charge at #1 beginning with a U.S. Open major major upset he’ll have to do it over the bodies of 4 formidable players still ranked ahead of him.

They are Ljubicic, Nalbandian, Nadal and the King of the Mountain who many have proclaimed the best men’s tennis player in the history of the Sport, Roger Federer who is more than 2000 points ahead of Nadal who is #2 in the standings and that gap is far more than between any other 2 players in the Top Ten.

For now

Federer vs, Blake

in the U.S. Open Final

is the Dream

that would capture

the attention of

The Tennis World

and the nation
