WHAT ABOUT KOBE ?

DID TIME WATCH SUNDAY’S GAME

STEVE NASH IS ON LIST BUT NOT KOBE BRYANT

NEW ISSUE TIME MAGAZINE

Time just published

its List of the

100

most influential people

in the World

according to Time

Oprah is on the List of course. Are there any she is not. Bill Clinton and Hillary. Both Bushs. Other political figures from around the Globe. But not Rudy Giuliani thank God. Thank God twice. Actor George Clooney is on the List. Must have actors. Will Smith too. Needless to say Bono is on the List. Or else !

And all kinds of whacky names along with some legitimate world leaders, leading scientists, and visionary business leaders.

Yes even the Dixie Chicks are on the List. Howard Stern too. Reese Witherspoon ??? Condoleezza Rice, and Pope Benedict. Al Gore and Katie Couric. Sean Diddy Combs. Ralph Lauren and Paul Simon. Hugo Chavez and Bill Gates. Milenda Gates too. But no Tiger Woods. WHAT ??

Tiger must be Crushed.

On and on it Goes.

It is a Mish Mash. It is impossible to figure why these 100 and not others. No matter if Time tries hopelessly to explain it in the issue. Of course it was drawn up to get attention. Just what we are doing. Falling into their Trap. It’s OK.

We’re using them too !

But why the Black Box ??

Because gentle readers there are some athletes among the 100. A very few but NO Black athletes at all. And one particular white athlete who gets ALL the credit for today’s Box after Sunday’s memorable Lakers – Suns Playoff game.

Who are the athletes among the Time 100

American speed skater Joey Cheek of Winter Olympic fame. But NO African American Shanee Davis a far more deserving story from the recent Olympics. Michelle Wie the young golf sensation is there. And one more athlete for a total of 3 among the 100.

It’s the Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash

The same Steve Nash who lost the ball at two crucial points in Sunday’s NBA Playoff game against the Lakers leading to 2 incredible Baskets by Kobe Bryant one to tie the game sending it to Overtime. The second to win in Overtime at the Buzzer. To give LA an insurmountable 3-1 games lead in the Series.

So why is Steve Nash among the 100

you certainly won’t know

Reading his Time 100 profile

why that makes him

one of the most influential

humans on Earth

according to Time

Nothing against Steve Nash. He is an outstanding basketball player, a sincere individual, team player, etc. etc., etc. But why Steve Nash and not Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. Or in football Michael Vick or Donovan McNabb as Quarterbacks redefining their sport. Or in baseball Barry Bonds. For good or bad. Or yes Tiger Woods. On every other List in the universe. Or Shanee Davis Black speed skater. First Black Olympic Gold Medal in the sport . Why only Cheek, Wie, Nash ??

Looks like we’ll have to take up the Challenge

do the Black Box 100 most influential humans

Sorry no Bono, George Clooney, Al Gore,

Condi Rice, Katie Couric, Sean Combs,

Ralph Lauren, Reese Witherspoon. or

not even George W. Bush

he doesn’t deserve it

( Dixie Chicks ??? )

KOBE BRYANT

don’t sweat it

you will be on

The Black Box 100

just don’t know when

we’ll get around to it

we’re not Time
