HOUSTON, TX.—QUESTION: If you were President of the United States which teammate would be your Vice President?

POLK: My Vice President man, ooh, you know what? I am going to say Troy Evans. That’s my boy, my backup inside linebacker, my special team guru, see what I’m saying. We spend a lot of times together and I think he knows me. We feed of each other.

QUESTION: If you were trapped in an alley what teammate would you want with you?

POLK: Jonathan Wells or Antwan Peek. Peek or Wells.

QUESTION: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world who would it be with?

POLK: You know what? I would probably say Oprah. With all the good things she does we would have a lot to talk about.

QUESTION: If you could take any lady in the world out for lunch who would it be?

POLK: Beyonce. (he did not have to think about it)

QUESTION: If you owned an NFL team and could sign a player past or present who would it be?

POLK: Walter Payton.

QUESTION: If you owned an NBA team and could sign any player past or present who would it be?

POLK: It‘s nobody else, but Michael (Jordan).

QUESTION: If you owned a MLB team and could sign any player past or present who would it be?

POLK: Man I love baseball. It would have to be my boy Barry Bonds.

QUESTION: If you could have played with any NFL player of the past who would it be?

POLK: Ronnie Lott. ( the hard-hitting safety for the 49ers, now in the NFL Hall of Fame).

QUESTION: If you could pick any NFL player to be your teammate who would it be?

POLK: Oh, that’s a tough one. I would have to say Michael Vick. He can change the game around anytime.

QUESTION: If you were going out on a double date what teammate would you like to go with?

POLK: Jason Simmons, that’s my boy.

QUESTION: If you could play for any other NFL coach other than Coach Capers, who would it be?

POLK: Marvin Lewis (Bengals)

QUESTION: If you could play any position for one play what would it be?

POLK: Free Safety

QUESTION: If you had to choose your college courses what would you not have taken?

POLK: This brought a big laugh. What is this class? Statistics or research methods.

QUESTION: If you only had enough food to share with only one teammate who would it not be?

POLK: This brought another big laugh. That’s cold, man that’s cold. Robaire Smith (another big laugh) That dude can eat.

QUESTION: If you wanted a secret kept what teammate would you not tell?

POLK: Oh, that’s tough; I hope they don’t read this. Jason Baabin (which brought another laugh).

QUESTION: If you had to do it all over again what would it be?

POLK: Probably listening to my parents earlier on.

DaShon Polk, the Texans second year starting linebacker is a steady all-around performer in the NFL who provides discouraging vigor in his inside linebacker spot. Polk picked up the reins almost as soon as he arrived on the Texans scene and has shown that he can handle the position when aroused. He is a swift and pounding tackler with unusual range and is coming off his best season.
